The Music: "Soul from Across the Spectrum"
Nightcap Riot climaxes with a concerts curated by some of New York City’s top music minds and producers, focusing on music that speaks to the spirit of finding harmony in discord, greatness in collaboration, and funk and soul in diversity. Each and every night will feature robust, dynamic artists from across the musical spectrum, performing and fusing energies in a setting that celebrates what it means to revel in all facets of the arts – from food to drink to theater to folk, classical, trap, jazz, hip hop, rock and the blues.
Participating artists (rotating nightly and subject to change) include:

-
JC Brooks of JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound with his electropop duo The K.i.D, exploring new, soulful sounds as yet unheard by NYC audiences. JC has headlined at venues and festivals across the country and around the world, attracting an enthusiastic grassroots following while garnering the support of the likes of NPR and AAA radio with their eye-opening cover of Wilco’s “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” (which they performed with Jeff Tweedy at Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival in 2011–google the video, it’s a riot). UK’s taste-making MOJO Magazine called them “one of the hottest US soul acts right now.”
-
Jeff Kazee of Southside Johnny and the Asbury. Jeff's keyboard, vocal and arranging skills have led him through an eclectic career—touring and recording with Rock icons Bon Jovi, Folk/Pop singer-songwriter Dar Williams, cross-country tripping with SNL/Dylan bandleader G.E. Smith, getting back to the Roots of Americana with Southside Johnny & The Poor Fools, greasing grooves with Stax legends Steve Cropper & Eddie Floyd and vibing with the inimitable Downtown soul of Chocolate Genius.
